Looking to play a key role in an extraordinary port construction project ? For at least 3 months, you will be the safety lead on a major worksite in Saint-Nazaire.

The project in a few words:

  • Construction of a lock gate for the JOUBERT dry dock.
  • A giant gate built on site, until April 2027, the dry dock will host the assembly of nearly 40 blocks of the future gate.
  • Outsized dimensions: 17 m high, 11 m wide and 56 m long.
  • Your phase: painting works, in shifts that may sometimes be at night.
  • 30 people on site: the worksite team and its subcontractors.
  • Our client is a recognised specialist in steel structures, concrete and special works.

Your role will be to:

  • Supervise compliance with HSE rules by the team and subcontractors, so that the 30 people on site work together safely.
  • Anticipate painting-related risks, to protect the teams painting the gate.
  • Issue confined space entry permits, after checking air quality, ventilation, monitoring and rescue arrangements.
  • Run safety talks, so that every team starts its shift with the right reflexes.
  • React quickly in the event of an incident or accident, to protect people and allow work to resume in good conditions.
  • Report on activity (reports, analyses, register), to keep a reliable record and improve safety day after day.
  • Accept scaffolding, if you hold the qualification, to guarantee safe access to this 17 m high structure.

This job is for you if…

  • You have 3 to 5 years of on-site HSE experience
  • You are comfortable working in confined spaces
  • You speak English
  • You use Microsoft Office with ease
  • You communicate clearly and know how to anticipate
  • A plus: scaffolding acceptance qualification

Two ways to join us:

  • Fixed-term contract of at least 3 months: you are an SDS employee for the whole assignment.
